The 27th edition of the International Workshop on Weak interactions and Neutrinos (WIN2019) will be held in Bari (Italy) from June 3 to 8, 2019, at “Villa Romanazzi Carducci”, a congress facility located at walking distance from the train station and the city center.
The conference will consist of invited and contributed talks and poster presentations, beginning on Monday, June 3rd (morning) and ending on Saturday, June 8th (early afternoon).
The scientific program of the workshop will focus on the following topics:
- Electro-Weak Symmetry Breaking and Higgs
- Astroparticle Physics
- Flavor Physics

Registration and Conference Fee
Registration will open on 18February 2019 and will continue through 20th of May 2019.
The conference fee is 430 € for early registration (before 20th of April) and 480 € after this date.

Please note that no payment will be possible on site!
Abstract submission for parallel talks and posters will open on February 20th and will continue up to March 20th. More details about the abstract submission will be available on the WIN2019 website.
Free high speed wifi will be made available at the Conference venue.
Presentations and posters
Highlights talks will be 45′ long (+ 5’ for discussion). Overview talks will be 40’ long (+ 5’ for discussion). Parallel talks will be at least 20′ long (+ 3′ for discussion).
The poster session is scheduled on June 4th and 5th. Accepted posters will be assigned a number. This will be reported on the the board where the poster will be posted. Final, already printed poster, should be brought by authors and posted on boards upon arrival on site.
Final poster should be not bigger than A0 portrait format (85x120h cm).
The best posters will be selected by a jury and will be awarded with dedicated plenary talks on Friday, June 7th.
Proceedings of the conference will be published in Proceedings of Science (https://pos.sissa.it/) the open access online journal organized by the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) based in Trieste. The proceedings will be peer-reviewed. More details about the abstract submission will be available on the WIN2019 website.
Participants should personally arrange their own accommodation in Bari. Early booking is highly recommended, since Bari is a highly demanded tourist destination, especially during the high season. Popular Hotel booking sites offer a wide choice of Hotels and B&B in the city of Bari. We have also reserved a limited number of rooms with special pricing for WIN2019 attendees at the conference venue (Hotel Mercure Villa Romanazzi Carducci). Travel to Bari
There are several ways to reach Bari city center.
By Train. The main railway station is “Bari Centrale“, located in the center of the city (“Aldo Moro” Square). It is about 2 km far from the ferry terminal at Bari port, 15 km away from the “Karol Wojtyla“ Bari-Palese International Airport and 1 km away from “Villa Romanazzi Carducci”. Please check the train availability directly at Trenitalia website (https://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en).
By Plane. The nearest airport is the “Karol Wojtyla“ Bari-Palese International Airport (IATA airport code: BRI), located 15 km away from the city center. Please check the available flights directly at the airport website (http://www.aeroportidipuglia.it/homepagebari). Note that further seasonal flights might be activated in June.
Several possibilities can be exploited to get from the airport to the center of the city and the venue (taxi, shuttle bus, railway): for details see http://www.aeroportidipuglia.it/en/bari/come-raggiungerci or the WIN2019 website.
Information about VISA requirements for travel to Italy can be found at http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en. Citizens of the EU, EEA, Switzerland, USA, and several countries like Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea do not need a VISA to enter Italy. On Thursday 6th (afternoon) there will be a guided excursion of the Matera city, located in the region of Basilicata at a distance of about 70 km from Bari. The town lies in a small canyon (the “Gravina”), and the historical center (the “Sassi”) originates from a prehistoric settlement as early as the year 7000 BC. The Sassi region and the Park of the Rupestrian Churches belong to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1993. For the year 2019 Matera has been declared European Capital of Culture.
